Youtube hit one billion users each month

Google's own Youtube, the world largest video-sharing social network announced in a blog post that it has achieved one billion active visitors each month. The post also revealed that the massive traffic was accomplished thanks to the recent increase in smartphones.
Youtube was launched in California, U.S.A in 2005 by three Paypal employees. The website was acquired by search engine giant, Google for $1.76 billlion.
Youtube has played significant roles in helping Google to effectively sell advertising on the video site. With the massive traffic, Youtube will likely compete with Facebook in terms of choice of ads placement.
